The Spark of Inspiration

Living on the beautiful Phillip Island, Australia, I’ve always been surrounded by stunning beaches, epic surf, and a community that loves the outdoors. As a mum to two rad little lads, I found myself constantly searching for kids’ clothing that was not only stylish but also durable enough to withstand their endless adventures. It was during one of these searches that the idea for Sand + Salt Kids started to take shape.

I realized there was a gap in the market for high-quality, sustainable kids’ clothing that could keep up with our active island lifestyle. I wanted to create something that kids would love to wear, something that would make them feel confident and cool, while also being kind to the environment. And so, the dream of Sand + Salt Kids was born.

Turning Dreams into Reality

Starting a business is no small feat, especially when you’re a busy mum juggling a million things at once. But I was determined to bring my vision to life. I spent countless hours researching sustainable materials, brainstorming designs, and learning the ins and outs of running a business. I wanted every piece of clothing to be one-of-a-kind, just like the little legends who would wear them.

I partnered with talented artisans in Bali to handcraft each item with love and care. This not only ensured the highest quality but also supported local communities. From the very beginning, it was important to me that Sand + Salt Kids stood for more than just clothing; it had to represent a movement towards sustainability, individuality, and positivity.

Of course, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. There were late nights, moments of doubt, and a lot of learning along the way. But every step brought us closer to creating a brand that I am incredibly proud of. Our commitment to sustainability means that our clothes are made to last, reducing waste and promoting a greener future for our kiddos.

One of the highlights of our journey has been partnering with i=change, where we donate $1 from every sale to a cause chosen by our customers. It’s our way of giving back and making a difference together. Knowing that our community is part of this positive change fuels our passion and drives us to keep pushing forward.
